Moviegoings.

I kid you not.

My dream of seeing Sweeny Todd was fulfilled last night! It was soooo grand. My new favorite movie, for sure. I've never seen so many slit throats in my life; a war movie couldn't have competed with the gloriously plotted and wrought deaths; the most delicate and compelling was the final one, in which the blood of the deceased character slid quietly down their body instead of spurting- just a river of finality, almost.

There was also a point where someone fell through a trap door and their head smashed like an egg. <3 It was glooooriousssss.

It was also like an 18th century Romeo and Juliet; I can't say any more than that. D:

I found the film very predictable; however, my two friends ( and Dee, not a DArtist.) also saw a few of the foreshadowings, but I picked that movie to pieces. It was amazing! The music was beautiful and clever; if you like seeing a very serious, staring Sweeny Todd in a horizontally striped, black and white old-style bathing suit while a crooning Ms. Lovett smiles cheerily next to him in bright blue bathing garments, this movie is for you.

Compelling, morbid English humor, the wonderfully gray atmousphere, and the splendid cast left me speechless.

Or rather, not. We discussed it all the way home. ;D

My throat did feel rather tight afterward; and just thinking about this film, it's constricted again. xD

If you're squeemish or easily frightened by shadowy characters good at sneaking around with a straight-razor, I would suggest you don't go see this movie.
